Where Tradition Meets Innovation: Turkey and the Basque Country

For two inspiring days, Fagor Professional had the privilege of welcoming a group of renowned Turkish chefs, accompanied by regional commercial representatives, to the Basque Country. More than a company visit, this experience became a meeting point between two rich gastronomic cultures connected by a shared commitment to excellence, creativity, and culinary heritage.

Originally planned for six chefs, the delegation ultimately consisted of four participants after two guests were unable to attend due to personal reasons. Nevertheless, the program proved highly productive and offered meaningful opportunities for exchange, learning, and collaboration.

The objective of the visit was to introduce our guests to the origins of a gastronomic philosophy that has positioned the Basque Country among the world's leading culinary destinations. Through visits, presentations, and immersive culinary experiences, participants discovered firsthand the ecosystem of innovation, creativity, and respect for quality ingredients that defines our identity.

The journey began in Bilbao with an authentic Basque gastronomic experience. From there, the group visited Mondragon, where we shared the foundations of our cooperative structure, corporate culture, and the organizational model that supports our industrial capabilities. During the factory tour, the chefs had the opportunity to see our production capacity, quality standards, and manufacturing strength firsthand.

The showroom experience offered a broader perspective on Fagor Professional. Supported by our team, we presented not only our product portfolio but also our chef-focused strategy and the work carried out by our gastronomy department. Participants were introduced to our service approach, digital tools, and comprehensive solutions designed to support professional kitchens worldwide. Together with our project specialists, we also presented the methodology and capabilities of our project department, demonstrating how we support customers from concept development to final implementation.

On the third day, the visit to GOe further highlighted our commitment to gastronomy, education, innovation, and international collaboration. In addition, a project implementation visit showcased our expertise beyond equipment manufacturing, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in design, execution quality, and project excellence.

At the same time, the visit provided us with the opportunity to engage with professionals who represent one of the world's most deeply rooted culinary traditions. Turkish gastronomy, rich in history, techniques, and cultural heritage, is

a remarkable example of how knowledge passed down through generations continues to inspire modern culinary innovation.
